Type of disease and transmission (Christian)

  •  cholera is a bacterium that infects

           people by the consumption of infected water

           or food.

 

Prevention  (Christian)

 

  • Sterilization: Boiling, filtering, and chlorination of water

kill the bacteria produced by cholera patients and prevent

infections from spreading.

  • Sickbed: Proper disposal and treatment of the germ infected fecal waste (and all clothing and bedding that come in contact with it) produced by cholera victims is of primary importance.

     

  • Sewage: Treatment of general sewage before it enters the waterways or underground water supplies prevents undiagnosed patients from spreading the disease.
  • Drink only water that you have boiled or treated with chlorine or iodine. Other safe beverages include tea and coffee made with boiled water and carbonated, bottled beverages with no ice.

Extreme diarrhea,

profuse vomiting

and in some cases, leg cramps.

 

With his rapid loss of bady fluids one can,

lose all of their electrolytes and go into shock.

 

 

 

 

Treatment (Taylor)

 

The treatment is to give the infected person a bag of electrolyte

rich fluid (usually taken by the mouth) this fluid must be used in

extreme amounts or the person may go into a deep shock and die.

 

In some very bad cases the person must take antibiotics to

get rid of the cholera.

There is an average of 120,000 people infected each year by cholera disease.

Cholera occurs in India, Asia, Africa, Mexico, and the Mediteranien
